In this section, you will find miscellaneous information and resources that I have found useful or interesting...enjoy!

This is great article about sensitivity.

American anti-intellectualism and lack of national GT education policy are concerning trends to the GT community.  As an advocate for gifted kids from diverse backgrounds, I don't agree with everything in this article, but found it very interesting nonetheless.

Here is a nice article about project based learning.

Getting smarter - by "chunking" - an interesting take on the learning process and building specific expertise.

This article makes a great case for regular exercise.  I'd also argue that getting comfortable with being uncomfortable in an academic setting is advantageous too!

This article on existential riddles cracked me up!

I recently discovered Science Dump, this profile on high IQ individuals was very interesting.  I just have to wonder, where are the rest of the women?!

Our words are powerful, I loved this list both as a parent and a teacher!

Do you enjoy recreational math?  If so, you should read this article.

The body of research about twice exceptional (2E) people is broadening.  I found this article about the benefits of Autism fascinating.

We are fortunate that Denver Public Schools uses universal screening (testing of all students) to identify students for Gifted programming.  Sadly, not all districts do.

The best overviews I have found about Dabrowski's Overexcitabilities can be found here and here.

We have all heard about tiger parents, but I loved this article about elephant parents.

A designer with dyslexia created a font.  Learn more and download it for free.

One of the best books I have read this year, Quiet challenged me to do more to celebrate the abundant gifts of my introverted students.  The TED Talk is pretty great, too.

In all my students, I try to instill growth mindset.  Learn about praising effort rather then talent and a bit about the research in this helpful article.
